Muses of Beading Challenge

I wrote the very first post on the new Bead Circle Blog! (It's now at www.beadcircle.com/blog) It's called the Muses of Beading, and I gave a description of what each beading muse would wear. The challenge is to choose one of the muses, and make something that they would have or wear. You can follow my description, or create a piece based on what that muse means to you. Post pictures and a story of how you were inspired to make it here on this thread, and one will be chosen as the November work of the month!
Happy Beading!

Love this challenge. I'll see what I can do by the end of the month. Now to figure out which muse(s) I want to create for.

I had to laugh. When I started to read the blog this morning I was thinking "Beading Muse, now that would make for a great challenge...". Then I get to the end of the article and what do you know, great minds think alike. Its such a fun idea for a challenge. If anyone here is into making the art dolls, creating a Beaded Muse would be interesting. I may just have to give this challenge a try myself. But I'm with sistert, going to be tough chosing a muse......... I'm looking forward to seeing what everyone else comes up with though, so many great creative minds on this forum. Should be a fun challenge.

Well I guess we should give everyone a month to work on this, so the due date is November 6th.

Mandi,
A very interesting idea. Do we have to let let you know which muse(s) we are doing or would you like to be surprised at the end of the challenge?

Mandi, loved the blog. just read this today. have a question, are we to create according to what the muse wears or according to how we are inspired by said muse? i am not clear on this.

Mary, You don't have to let me know in advance, but if you would like to have members comment on your idea for feedback purposes, you are more than welcome to post. = )

Sue, to answer your question: both. Making something the muse would either have or wear was my original intention, but if you make something inspired by the particular characterstics of a muse, it would also be in that muse's particular taste. I hope this helps even though its sort of a non-answer = )

So how are your projects going so far. I managed to pick out the beads I want to use at the bead shop today. I'll probably start beading tomorrow after I draw up some designs. Hope its going well

I finally narrowed it down to three muses (Polyhymnia, Clio, and Urania). Now I'm just brainstorming to see which one I come up with the most/best ideas for. If I have time, I may end doing a piece for each, they each have a strong influence on me, from what I can tell, so maybe I'll just have to pay homage to all three.

I had trouble deciding so I Googled for quizzes to find my muse. These three kept coming up as the most influential, so I'll take that as a sign from the virtual gods and work with it.
